Search the Lyons Court Docket

A Lyons court docket search runs through Greene County, not through a city court of its own. Lyons has no municipal court, so its cases are filed in the county system. Start with Indiana’s statewide case tools. When an entry, document, or date is missing there, the unified Greene County Clerk is the office to call. City Hall still keeps Lyons administrative records, but the courts in Bloomfield handle every judicial cause arising in Lyons.

Lyons Town Records Versus Greene Cases

The official Lyons portal publishes City Hall information, departments, boards, and minutes. Those are municipal-government records. They are not a judicial case index. MyCase carries the searchable CCS for public Greene cases. The Clerk holds the official court file. City Hall is the right stop for an ordinance or a council minute. The same goes for any city-held administrative record. Ask it about a court setting or a certified judgment, though, and you are knocking on the wrong door.

Two records, two custodians: request Lyons city records from the city. Request a CCS, filed order, certification, or case payment history from the Greene County Clerk or the maintaining Greene court.

The Lyons Municipal Court

The current official court directory, the Odyssey court list, and the 2024 Judicial Service Report all show the same thing. That matters. No separate Lyons municipal court exists. No municipal judge, Odyssey identifier, or city docket appears either. The usual city pattern does not apply here. Lyons cases do not start on a city-court docket. Greene County instead has two courts of record and one unified Clerk. Greene Superior holds exclusive local responsibility for infractions and minor violations. Other cases follow the county assignment rules. No city docket does not mean no public trail. It means the court record lives under Greene Superior or Greene Circuit. City police agency information can show up on a ticket result. Still, the filing court and the cause number matter. They tell you which court actually holds the file.

Lyons Civil Town in State Records

The official Indiana budget-unit entry lists LYONS CIVIL TOWN in Greene County. It is an official government source. It is not a court docket, though. It is also not proof of a municipal court. The town publishes no standalone portal or Town Hall contact. For town-held records, use the budget source or a particularized Greene APRA request. For any judicial matter, go to ePay, MyCase, Greene Superior, or the Clerk.

Lyons Court Dates and Settings

For a Lyons-related hearing, trust the newest MyCase setting. Trust the latest signed order too. Indiana Trial Court Calendars shows no participating Greene court right now. A blank CourtCal search therefore proves nothing about cancellation or scheduling. Resets, continuances, and vacated settings can all override an older notice. So confirm before you drive to Bloomfield. Call the court named in the cause number.

DateThe latest future date after reviewing later reset or vacated entries.
TimeThe case-specific time, not merely a recurring bond-schedule block.
CourtroomThe location stated in the CCS or order; verify when absent.
JudgeThe judicial officer displayed for the setting, which may include the joint magistrate.
Setting TypeArraignment, pretrial, motion, trial, sentencing, review, or another event label.

Lyons Ranks Fifth in Greene

Lyons came in fifth. The official STATS Indiana July 1, 2020 estimates put it among Greene County’s five selected incorporated places, with 723 residents. That figure is a place estimate, not a court caseload count. It is also not the 2020 Census total. Greene County’s court structure still holds only Circuit and Superior courts of record. The 2024 state report shows no city or town court judge. The official place-population table documents the ranking behind these city pages. Its population context explains why Lyons stands out. The town still does not run its own docket.

Lyons Traffic Tickets

For an eligible Lyons ticket, search ePay by ticket or UTT number, by driver-license number, or by name and date of birth. Keep the leading zeroes in a UTT. Results can show the ticket date, the police agency, the court, the case number, the offense, the balance, and whether online payment is open. Not every citation appears. Not all qualify for online payment. If a recent ticket is missing, the portal advises waiting ten business days, trying another search, then turning to MyCase or Greene Superior. Paying is not contesting. Per the county instruction sheet, an infraction recipient may call Greene Superior before the printed date to deny the charge and set a trial. A misdemeanor summons requires an appearance. ePay’s payment sequence demands an admission or a nolo contendere choice, and it waives trial. Check Greene County traffic court records before treating a payment screen as a neutral lookup.

The Official Lyons Portal Gap

Lyons publishes no standalone town portal or court page. Treat that gap as a gap. It posts no Town Hall address. There is no local citation intake either. Do not fill it with an assumed office or court. Those details would matter only for requesting Lyons-held ordinances, minutes, or administrative material. They are not the hours or address for the Greene County Clerk’s court-record counter. The state budget portal does confirm the civil town unit. The Greene County Clerk remains the documented fallback for court records. Is the custodian unclear? A county APRA request can seek a particularly described town-held record.

Where Lyons Cases End Up

Two courts split the work for Lyons cases. Greene Superior takes infractions and minor violations. It also handles small claims, evictions, qualifying misdemeanors, Level 6 felony matters, and certain impaired-driving cases. Greene Circuit, meanwhile, holds exclusive ground on juvenile, adoption, guardianship, and estate causes. Beyond those lines, Odyssey assigns other civil and criminal cases to Circuit or Superior at random. A later transfer can flip the court prefix on a case number.

When the court is unknown, search both 28D01 and 28C01. The prefix tells you the venue: 28D01 marks Superior, while 28C01 marks Circuit. After that come the filing year, month, case type, and sequence. The Greene County court docket walks through the countywide assignment route.

The Clerk Is Lyons’s Fallback

A blank docket search does not mean much by itself. The cause could be small. It could be a spelling slip, a wrong date, a bad identifier, a narrow court filter, or a filing delay. Older pre-Odyssey records, confidential causes, excluded filings, protection orders on a separate search path, and expunged matters can all hide from view too. The empty result proves nothing about dismissal, innocence, guilt, or whether the case exists.

Work the problem. Try the full cause or citation number. Switch between Greene courts, loosen tight filters, and read the latest entry. Then turn to the Clerk for the public CCS or a specific filed document. For older material, ask about bound records or microfilm. Want a transcript? Contact the court reporter, not the Clerk. Public Portal access can surface more documents for an entitled party or attorney, but it never undoes a sealing order.

Public Access to Lyons Court Records

Indiana's Rules on Access to Court Records govern public Greene court records, while Lyons or county administrative records may fall under the Indiana Access to Public Records Act. MyCase costs nothing to use, yet the certified official file sits with the Clerk. Visit the counter at 1 East Main Street, Bloomfield. The counter is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or you can mail a request to PO Box 229, Bloomfield, IN 47424. Charges run $1 per page and $3 per certification. Email Clerk@co.greene.in.us or call 812-384-8532 to confirm availability and payment.

More documented channels exist. Ask about a courthouse public terminal. Use fax for qualifying filings under the local rule. File the county APRA form for county-held records. Rely on Public Portal if you are an entitled user, or go to the reporter for transcripts. Whatever the route, name the court, cause number, exact CCS entry or document, copy type, delivery method, and your contact information.

Key Rules:

Indiana Administrative Rule 9 requires public access to court records and daily docket information subject to governing exclusions.

Indiana Rule on Access to Court Records 5 protects confidential cases, sealed material, identifiers, and other excluded content.

Indiana Code 5-14-3 is APRA, the route for sufficiently particular requests for many government-held records.

Why Lyons Needs a County-Cause Search

Start at the top of the Chronological Case Summary. Its header lists the cause number, Greene court, case type, filing date, status, and judicial officer. Party and attorney blocks come next. Then charges or claims, settings, events, financial activity, disposition, and links to any documents on file. Remember that a listed event and its linked filing are separate layers. An entry can be public. Even so, no PDF may be available remotely.

CCS: Indiana’s chronological case-event record.

Reset: a setting moved to another date; find the newest event.

Vacated: a date or order set aside; confirm any replacement.

IF or OV: infraction or violation-family case coding; read the live description.

Certified copy: a Clerk-certified reproduction, not a browser printout.

Lyons Records Across Three Systems

The Indiana budget portal supplies an official Lyons Civil Town government record.

The entry establishes a public entity and fiscal trail, not a Lyons court docket.

The Odyssey courts list identifies Greene Circuit 28C01 and Greene Superior 28D01.

Those county identifiers are the correct MyCase selectors for a Lyons-related state cause.

Federal bankruptcy works differently. Per the Southern District bankruptcy page, the Terre Haute location is not regularly staffed, and contacts, documents, and payments all route through Evansville.

A federal bankruptcy docket belongs in PACER and the federal clerk system, not MyCase or a Lyons town source.
